2014-15: Melanie competed in freestyle events for the Cardinals during her freshman campaign...she had a team best time of 24.69 for the 50 free...at the GLIAC championships (2/11/15) she hit her season best time for the 200 free (2:03.82)...5:56.02 was her highest 500 free time against Northern Michigan University (11/8/14).
Prior to SVSU/Personal: Prepped at Howell High School under head coach Kristyn Textor...earned seven varsity letters in swimming and track and field...named all-county, all-conference, team captain and most improved swimmer...member of the National Honor Society, honor roll and KLAA Scholar Athlete...major is undecided...daughter of Neal and Heather Soenksen...born 1/1/96.
