UNIVERSITY CENTER, MICH. – Saginaw Valley State University softball senior pitcher Emily Depew was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season, all three coming in the last four weeks.
Depew went 3-1 for the week to give her 15 wins this season (she leads the GLIAC with that total). She held opponents to just six hits with runners on base, while striking out 27 batters to lead the GLIAC with 145 strikeouts this season. The Lowell, Michigan native reached the 600 career strikeouts mark on Saturday, making her the second Cardinal pitcher in history to reach that total.
The Cardinals will complete their five-game homestand with Northwood on Friday, April 26, and Ferris State on Saturday, April 27 to end the regular season. Game one against the Timberwolves will begin at 3:00 PM EST, on Friday.
