UNIVERSITY CENTER, MICH. – Saginaw Valley State University senior Maddie Campagna was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Softball Player of the Week when the league office announced its weekly awards on Monday afternoon.
Campagna led the Cardinals in batting average (.500), slugging percentage (1.000), hits (9), RBI (11), total bases (18), and home runs (2) for the week. She was a large contributor to the offensive effort in a week where SVSU went 4-2 to open the 2024 season. The outfielder from Milford, Michigan went 4-8 with two outs, recording four 2-out RBI along with finishing the weekend 6-9 with runners in scoring position. She hit two home runs in her first six at-bats of the season.
