BAY CITY, Mich, - Saginaw Valley State
University sophomore cross country runner Nick Ekel (Elsie,
Mich. / Ovid-Elsie HS) was selected as Great Lakes Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Runner of the Week after placing third
overall at the Cardinal Invitational this past Friday (Sept.
25).
Ekel crossed the line with a final time of 25:41, good for third
on the afternoon as he led a group of three other Cardinal runners
into the top 20 while facing some tough competition from schools
such as Michigan State University and Wayne State University.
The Cardinals will return to action Saturday (Oct. 3) when they
head to Chicago to run in the Loyola Invitational.
