EUGENE, OR - SVSU Track & Field freshman athlete James Walker (West Bloomfield, Mich./Walled Lake Central HS) competed today (6/24) in the USA Outdoor Track & Field Junior National Championships.

Walker was the only SVSU Track & Field athlete that qualified for the USA Junior National meet and entered the meet with an overall time of 53.55 for the 400-meter hurdles.  He would place fifth in his heat, 12th overall, in a very competitive field of 21 athletes with a final time of 54.52.  Walker would not qualify for the finals and concludes his first year of collegiate athletics.
