2010-11: Indoor: competed in the 800-meter run at the SVSU Doug Hanson Open and timed in at 2:03.55...was a member of the distance medley relay team that crossed the line at a season best of 10:30.94 at the GVSU Big Meet while also running the mile and clocking in at 4:33.75...had a season best of 4:33.59 in the mile at the CMU Jack Skoog Open...was a member of the distance medley relay team that earned a seventh place finish at the Indoor GLIAC Championships with a final time of 10:52.41.  Outdoor: did not compete in the outdoor season.

2009-10: Indoor: earned a second place finish and a season best of 8:54.58 in the 3,000-meter run at the SVSU Holiday Classic...ran a time of 8:55.57 in the 3,000-meter run at the GVSU Early Bird Invitational, placing fourth...earned a season best in the mile coming in at 4:24.40 at the SVSU Indoor Classic...placed 11th overall in the mile run at the Indoor GLIAC Championships crossing the line at 4:25.16.  Outdoor:ran the mile at the MSU Spartan and FSU Bulldog Invitationals and clocked in at 4:12.11 and 4:13.40, respectively...placed seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Northwood Open finishing with a time of 10:21.27...earned a season best of 4:09.51 in the 1,500-meter run at the Outdoor GLIAC Championships.

2008-09: Was a member of the seventh place 4x400-meter relay team, finishing with a time of 3:48.59 and took eighth overall in the mile at the SVSU Collegiate Open…took eleventh place at SUVs’ Holiday Classic in the 4x400 with a time of 3:47.45 and thirteenth overall in the mile at the GVSU Invitational…finished fifteenth place overall at the GLIAC Indoor Championships in the mile run with a time of 4:29.28 and sixteenth at the Collegiate Open Indoor Classic in the mile…took eighteenth place in the 1,500-meter run at the GLIAC Outdoor Championships with a time of 4:07.54 and in the mile run at the NCAA Division II Team Challenge with a time of 4:30.99.

2007-08: Redshirted.

Prior to SVSU/Personal: Prepped at Standish-Sterling Central High School... conference champion and state qualifier senior year... conference champion and all-state in the 1600 meter during his senior campaign ... majoring in Secondary Education... son of Ben and Denise Welmers... born 09-22-88.
