UNVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer sophomore defender Felix Tom was named Defensive Player of the Week by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) office on Monday.

Tom led the defensive core in a 3-2 victory over No. 11 Tiffin and a 4-1 victory over Northwood this weekend. Tiffin scored one of their goals in the final minutes of the game and Northwood's lone goal was on a penalty kick.

This is the first time Tom has been named Defensive Player of the Week in his career and the second time in two weeks men's soccer has earned the honors.

Saginaw Valley men's soccer has their third ranked matchup on the road as they head to No. 19 Charleston on Saturday for a 1:00 PM kickoff from Welch Athletic Complex.
