UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University men's soccer senior defenseman Benjamin Adamson was selected the men's soccer defensive player of the week by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) office on Monday.

Adamson played all 180 minutes for the Cardinals this week as he anchored the back line that earned two clean sheets. In addition, the Adamson-led defense allowed just four shots on goal in a 1-0-1 showing for the week.

This is the first Player of the Week award for the SVSU men's soccer team this season. The team returns to the comforts of home this weekend for two matches. The first takes place on Friday, September 22 against Gannon in a non-conference match set to begin at noon.
