Men’s Golf Selected for Midwest Regional

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team has been selected for the 2025 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional, as announced by the NCAA on Friday. A total of 80 teams and 32 individuals were selected across all eight regionals. The Cardinals earned a team bid and will compete alongside nine other programs: Missouri S&T, Grand Valley State, Wayne State, Missouri-St. Louis, Findlay, Ferris State, Ohio Dominican, Ashland, and Hillsdale.

SVSU men's golf head coach Mike Masten shared his thoughts on the selection:

"This is a big accomplishment for the men. We have some seniors who've put in extra time and effort to help get us to this point. They've worked incredibly hard, but this isn't the ultimate goal. We have a great team with the potential to do some real damage in the regional. I'm very confident in these guys – they have a true team mentality and we're extremely proud of them."

The Midwest Regional will take place at St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Missouri, from Thursday, May 8 through Saturday, May 10. A minimum of the top three teams and top two individuals from each region will advance to the NCAA Division II Championships. Additionally, eight more teams will qualify based on last year's head-to-head medal play portion, with no more than seven teams advancing from a single region.

The NCAA Division II Championships will be held May 19–23 at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
