RICHMOND, Ky. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team competed in the Findlay Spring Invitational at Boones Trace Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday, playing three rounds. The Cardinals finished fifth out of 18 teams, with Shea Harmeson leading the way by tying for second place out of 100 golfers.
Harmeson posted rounds of 66 (-6), 75 (+3), and 67 (-5) for a total score of 208 (-8). He recorded 17 birdies and impressively birdied holes four and five in all three rounds. Jiseung Choi followed with scores of 74 (+2), 73 (+1), and 70 (-2), finishing one over par with a total of 217. Thomas Keyte was close behind, shooting two over par with rounds of 69 (-3), 73 (+1), and 76 (+4).
Evan Klein and Dominic DeLaura rounded out the Cardinals' lineup. Klein finished at 222 (+6) with rounds of 76 (+4), 74 (+2), and 72 (E), while DeLaura posted a total of 223 (+7) with rounds of 75 (+3), 76 (+4), and 72 (E).
As a team, the Cardinals tied for the fourth-best average on par-four holes and ranked fifth on par-five holes, shooting an average of 4.02 and 4.73, respectively. They also tied for the third-most birdies with 56 and ranked eighth in total pars with 162
