Men's Golf SVSU Spring Invitational Cancelled due to Weather and Conditions

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf program was set to host the SVSU Spring Invitational at Kearney Hill Golf Course in Lexington, Kentucky Saturday and Sunday. 19 teams started their first round on Saturday, March 15 and got through 8-11 holes before the storms rolled in. Before golf could resume to finish the round and play the second on Sunday, March 16, the tournament was cancelled due to weather and conditions.

The men's team had two teams of five golfers in the tournament. Team A was tied for eighth through 11 holes shooting 190 (+12). Shea Harmeson led with a 45 (+1) and was tied for 13th out of 112 golfers. Evan Klein followed with a 48 (+3) and Jiseung Choi with a 48 (+4) through his 11 holes. Joey Per shot 49 (+4) and Thomas Keyte rounded out the team with 53 (+8) before the weather.

Team B was made up of Michael Zanoni, Dominic DeLaura, Garrett Forgash, Ben Yono, and Tony Spicuzza. Zanoni was leading with a 41 (+2) through 10 holes. DeLaura shot 44 (+4) through 10 holes as well and also eagled hole six, a par four. Forgash played 10 holes as well shooting 47 (+7). Yono followed through nine holes with a 43 (+8) and Spicuzza through eight holes with a 41 (+11).

Up Next: Saginaw Valley men's golf has eight days off before heading back down to the Lexington area. They play in the u of Findlay Spring Invite in Richmond, Kentucky on Monday, March 24 and Tuesday, March 25 at the Boones Trace Golf Course.
