HARBOR SPRINGS, MICH. – Saginaw Valley State University men's golf sophomore Shea Harmeson competed in the 113th Michigan Amateur Championship tournament at The Highlands at Harbor Springs beginning on Monday, June 17. The Traverse City, Michigan native shot a +6 through round two to make the cut into the Round of 64 that began on Wednesday, June 19.

Harmeson defeated his first opponent 3 & 1 in the Round of 64, before matching up against the top-seeded golfer in the tournament in the Round of 32 later that afternoon. He advanced to the final 16 on Thursday after winning 2 up in the second matchup.

The All-GLIAC second-team recipient earned a 5 & 4 victory through 14 holes to move onto the quarterfinals taking place this afternoon. Harmeson fell 3 & 1 in the final eight to end his deep run in the championship.
