Men’s Golf Takes Fifteenth at SVSU Spring Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf program hosted the SVSU Spring Invitational at Kearny Hill Golf Links in Lexington, Kentucky Saturday and Sunday. Twenty-one teams competed in two rounds of 18-holes. The Cardinals finished 15th with a total of 601 after rounds of 300 and 301.

Remy Stalcup led SVSU with rounds of 74 and 71 to finish tied for 18th. Shea Harmeson put up rounds of 76 and 75 for a total of 151. Joey Per totaled 152 as he shot rounds of 74 and 78. Ethan Swenson shot 76 on Saturday and followed up with a 77 on Sunday. Nicholas Taylor rounded out the team with scores of 76 and 80.

Saginaw Valley also had three individuals in Thomas Keyte, Jiseung Choi, and Jacob Zink. Keyte and Choi both totaled 153. Keyte started with a 78 before having a better second round of 75. Choi started with a 73 and shot 80 on day two. Zink had rounds of 78 and 88 for a total of 166.

As a team, SVSU finished tied for sixth in birdies with 27. They also had one eagle coming from Stalcup. Keyte was tied for fifth in pars with 25 over the 36 holes. Per was close behind with 24 pars.

Men's golf heads back to Kentucky next week for the Findlay Spring Invite. Two days of golf at Boones Trace Golf Course in Richmond, Kentucky starts on Tuesday, March 26 and finishes on Wednesday.
