Cardinal Men’s Golf Takes Sixth at Davenport Invitational

AUGUSTA, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team went to the Davenport Invitational this weekend for a two-day tournament. They took sixth out of nine teams playing at Stoatin Brae Golf Club.

The men sent a team of five and two individuals to the event. Remy Stalcup was the best for the men as he tied for sixth overall shooting a 71 and 75 through two rounds. The team scored 309 and 303 in their two rounds for a total of 612. The best round was Shea Harmeson's second round as he shot a 73. He was the second-best performer for the men with his first round of 83 totaling 156. Joey Per shot a 78 in both rounds tying him with 156 along with Harmeson. Rounding out the team, Ethan Swenson had a round of 80 and 77 for a total of 157 and Nicholas Taylor shot 80 and 79. The two individuals were Thomas Keyte and Jiseung Choi. Keyte tied for 20th out of 53 golfers with his two rounds of 74 and 78 totaling 152. Choi shot 77 and 78 for a total of 155 tying him for 26th.

Coming up for SVSU golf, the men head to Findlay Monday, October 16 for the two-day Findlay Invitational.
