Men's Golf Finishes Bill Blazer Memorial in Sixth Place

URBANA, Ohio. – The Saginaw Valley State University men's golf team traveled to Urbana, Ohio to compete in the 36-hole ODU Bill Blazer Memorial Tournament on April 7 and 8. The squad consisting of Ethan Swenson, Jiseung Choi, Connor Jakacki, Nicholas Bailey, and Brendon Gouin finished sixth place overall while Michael Zanoni competed as an individual finishing T47 with a final round 76.

Swenson and Choi led the way for the Cardinals firing off a 149 over the two day stretch for a T22 finish. Jakacki and Bailey finished T30, just one stroke behind scoring 150. Gouin rounded out the lineup for SVSU with a 152 in T38. The Cardinals finished the tournament third in par five scoring, averaging 4.78 strokes, with Jakacki shooting five-under himself. They fell just behind tournament champions, Wayne State University and second place finishers, Ferris State University.
