SVSU Men compete at SVSU Spring Invitational

GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The Saginaw Valley State University Men's Golf team got its 2019 spring schedule underway this weekend, hosting the SVSU Spring Invitational at the Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Kentucky.

The Cardinals finished in 12th place overall in the event, ending up with rounds of 298-292 to finish a single stroke behind 11th place Northwood. Ferris State won the tournament with rounds of 291-276, claiming the title by six strokes over Grand Valley.

Dustin Pumford was the low man for the Cards, shooting rounds of 73-70, finishing in a tie for 17th place with his one-under total. Brady Dice tied for 31st place with two rounds of 73. Jordan Weaver carded scores of 77-74 while Alex Dice shot 77-75. Gunnar Stein posted scores of 75-80 as well. 

Jared Lyons, Mitch Hughes and Joe Baker played as individuals in the tournament as well. Lyons had rounds of 73-77, Hughes 77-76 and Baker scored 78-76 for SVSU.
