Tre Garrett Named GLIAC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University senior guard Tre Garrett was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GIAC) men's basketball offensive player of the week for his performance over the past weekend.

Garrett set a career-high in points with 31 in the win over Lake Superior State on Thursday night. He shot 15-17 from the free throw line during that game to lead SVSU to the win. He followed that performance up by setting another career high in points with 32 against 13th-ranked Ferris State on Saturday. It is the first time in his career that he posted back-to-back 30+ point totals. During the game against the Bulldogs, Garrett hit 1,000 career points as well as set new career bests for free throws made (17) and free throws attempted (24).

Garrett and the Cardinals return to the hardwood this Thursday with a road contest at Purdue Northwest. The opening tip for that game is set for 7:00 p.m.
