Saginaw Valley State Men's Basketball invites you to attend the annual RED & WHITE SCRIMMAGE on Saturday, Oct. 22, at James E. O'Neill Arena, beginning at 10am. After the conclusion of the scrimmage, a Christopher Jacobi Roundball Club Social will take place with lunch provided for members and families of the players.
Join us as we meet the 2022-23 team and hear from Head Coach Randy Baruth on the season outlook. The Red Team and the White Team will be announced via the Men's Basketball social media accounts at a later date. At half-time of the scrimmage, select members of the team will participate in a shooting challenge to see who the best shooters are.

The Cardinals are coming off a season in which they finished 19-11 overall and 12-8 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. SVSU earned the GLIAC South Division title and advanced to the semifinals of the GLIAC Tournament.
SVSU returns 12 players to the roster this year, including Maurice Barnett, who averaged 11.4 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per game in 14 games played. Also returning for the Cardinals is Freddie McIntosh, who started 16 games last season and averaged 6.1 points, and Tre Garrett who posted 7.0 points per game and 1.6 steals per game, which ranked third in the GLIAC. Also returning for the Cardinals will be Tyrik Singh, Jarno Pomstra, Steven Post, LB Booker, Gabe Hawes, and Alijah Harrison who all saw action last year for SVSU in various roles. After redshirting in 2021-22, Trip Riemersma and Kevonne Taylor will look to make an impact with the Cardinals this season. The Cardinals added 6 newcomers this season; two junior college transfers in big man Ben Tew and shooting guard Jiovanni Miles and four freshman in Chansey Willis Jr, Ethan Hill, Elvis Machul Jr, and Evan Booker.
On the bench for Coach Baruth this year will be assistant coaches Tommy Twardecki, Barry Huckeby, and Mark Stevens, and student assistant coaches Mason Kochanski, Daniel Buyaba, and Dante Swanigan.

Admission to the Red & White Scrimmage is free and no tickets are required for the event.
» Fans & Family Members - All general public, non-SVSU students should park in Lot E and enter the Ryder Center through the north ramp doors.
» Students - SVSU Students should enter through the Student Recreation Center Entrance. You must present your SVSU ID card for admission through this entrance.
