GLIAC -- Saginaw Valley State University Men's Basketball junior guard Malik Ellison has been selected as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division Player of the Week after his great play this weekend for the Cardinals. 

Ellison, who currently ranks fifth in the league with 18.3 points-per-game, had a pair of stellar games in SVSU's weekend action, leading the team to a 1-1 record. Ellison averaged 26.0 ppg, 6.0 apg, 4.5 rpg and 2.0 steals per game. He put up 22 points with four rebounds and a career-high eight assists in Thursday's 79-66 victory over LSSU. He then went-off for a career-high 30 points, adding five boards with four assists and three steals in Sunday's narrow 86-82 loss to #11 Ferris State.

The Cardinals (11-4, 5-2 GLIAC) are on the road at Davenport University on Thursday (Jan. 16) in a 7:30 p.m. contest before hosting Grand Valley State on Saturday (Jan. 18) at 3:00 p.m. You can catch all of that action at svsucardinals.com.
