GLIAC -- Saginaw Valley State University Men's Basketball sophomore guard Myles Belyeu has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division Player of the Week for the second time this season after an impressive weekend for the Cardinals. 

Belyeu had a pair of big games in leading the Cardinals to a 2-0 record in GLIAC play over the weekend. Myles tied his then career-high on Thursday with 32 points versus Purdue Northwest, adding eight rebounds with two steals and a block. He then topped that with a new career-best 33 points with three boards, a steal and block in Saturday's road victory at Parkside. Belyeu is currently second in the league with his 20.1 ppg average.

The Cardinals, who are now 9-3 overall and 4-1 in the GLIAC, host a pair of GLIAC games this week at O'Neill Arena, hosting Lake Superior State on Thursday (Jan. 9) at 8:00 p.m. before playing Ferris State on Saturday (Jan. 11) in a 3:00 p.m. matchup.
