Prepped at Saginaw High School...Named the Saginaw Valley League MVP as a senior...Associated Press First-Team All-State senior year...Named to the Saginaw County Dream Team during final prep campaign...Completed 55-96 passes for 1,640 yards and 17 TDs as a senior...Rushed for 250 yards and 11 TDs... Notched 35 tackles and intercepted 12 passes during his senior year...Key performer for the 1999 Saginaw Trojan squad that captured the DII Michigan High School State Championship Under Don Durrett 

Member of 4 (2002-2003, 2005-2006) National Championship football teams at GVSU as a LB under Brian Kelly(LSU), Chuck Martin(Miami OH), and Matt Mitchell(Wisconsin) 

Voted All GLIAC LB (2005-2007) 

Graduated from GVSU in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications 

2019 Joined SVSU staff as assistant Linebacker Coach 

2020-2021 Assistant Defensive Line Coach 

2022 Promoted to Defensive Line Coach 

In 2022 DT Victor Nelson was named 1st Team All-GLIAC, DE Jacob Dorn was Named 2nd Team All-GLIAC, DE Leonard Henry and DE Nathan Talakai were Honorable mentions 

Married to Beyonca Carruth with a son Mr. Kameron Maximus Carruth who is 10 years old 

Son of the late Howard McClendon and Charlotte Carruth...Enjoys spending time with family, watching sports, and traveling.
