Lucas Mead Earned Back-to-Back GLIAC Player of the Week Honors

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University sophomore outfielder Lucas Mead earned back-to-back GLIAC Player of the Week honors on Monday.

Mead had an impressive performance at the plate, going 10-for-15 in three wins at William Jewell this weekend. Mead posted a .667 batting average and a .722 on-base percentage, drawing three walks. On Saturday, he hit for the cycle with a perfect 5-for-5 day, including two doubles and a grand slam.

He finished the weekend with a 1.133 slugging percentage and a 1.755 OPS, raising all his season averages. Mead not only leads the GLIAC in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and OPS, but he also holds the top batting average in all of Division II.

This is the third Player of the Week honor for SVSU baseball this season and the second in Mead's career.
