UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Saginaw Valley State University baseball junior pitcher Jack Decker was named Pitcher of the Week by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) on Monday.
Decker pitched seven-scoreless innings in the 2-0 win in game two of a doubleheader against Tiffin on Friday. He struck out six while allowing two hits and a walk to post a 0.43 WHIP in the Cardinals first win of the year. The Farmington Hills native shutdown the Dragons offense who took game one, allowing Saginaw Valley to split the two games. His batting average against of .083 and 0.43 WHIP rank first in the conference and his WHIP is fourth in all of Division II.
This is Decker's first Pitcher of the Week honor of his career and the first for Cardinal baseball in the 2025 season.
