Brown named GLIAC Athlete of the Week

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University cross country teams competed at the Lewis University Crossover on Saturday in Romeoville, Ill.

The Cardinal men were led by Dayton Brown, who crossed the line first in the 213-runner field. Brown, from Rockford, Mich., finished in a time of 23:49.90.

For his efforts, Brown has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday. He is the first Cardinal to win the award this season.

Both the Cardinal men and women finished fifth as a team at the Lewis Crossover. SVSU competes next at the Wayne State Invite on Saturday at Willow Metropark in New Boston, Mich.
