MILFORD - The SVSU cross country teams traveled to Milford, Michigan to compete in the 2015 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) championships. The event was held at the Kensington Metropark and hosted by Wayne State University.

The men's squad was led by a pair of all-conference performances to post a third place finish overall. It is their highest finish since the 2009 finish when the Cardinals had a runner-up showing in the race.

Joey Southgate led the way for the Cards, earning First Team All-GLIAC plaudits with a sixth place finish and a time of 24:44.2 in the 8K event. Teammate Tom Goforth ran to a mark of 25:10.5 and claimed Second Team All-GLIAC honors with a 20th place showing. Nate Frasier had a solid showing as well, finishing 26th with a time of 25:42.7.

The women ran to a sixth place showing in the championships, as the ladies had a pair of all-league performers as well.

Brittany Johnson and Allison Dorr both made the Second Team All-GLIAC list. Johnson crossed the finish line at 22:40.5 in 17th place, with Dorr right behind her in 18th with a time of 22:44.3. Christina Micale followed not far behind, finishing with a time of 23:20.6 in 29th place.

Both teams will be in competition again on November 7th at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships in Evansville, Indiana.
