SVSU Volleyball Set To Host Wayne State On Wednesday In GLIAC Quarterfinal Action

UNIVERSITY CENTER — The SVSU Women's Volleyball team clinched berth to the GLIAC tournament, coming is as the No. 4 seed, earning the right to host a quarterfinal match Wednesday evening against Wayne State beginning at 7 p.m. in Hamilton Gymnasium. 

The SVSU team enters the match with an 18-9 overall record, 11-5 in conference play. The No. 5 seed Warriors 15-12, 10-6 in GLIAC action. Wednesday night will be the first time in program history that these two teams will meet in post season play.

The last time these two teams faced off was Sept. 15, where the Cardinals defeated WSU 3-1 in Detroit. Sarah Tabit was a huge component in this match, placing 21 kills and 10 digs in the books, earning herself the Player of the Match as well as a new career-high in kills. Addison Bouza also added nine kills in the match, her career high, as well. 

Whoever takes the victory Wednesday night will go on to face the winner of match one of the tournament, No. 1 Ferris State or No. 8 Parkside. Friday (Nov. 9.) for the semifinals. The place will be determined on the top seed remaining after the conclusion of the quarterfinal matches. 

Ticket prices will remain the same for the quarterfinal contest against the Warriors as regular season prices. You can save time and purchase tickets online here for the event. Students will have free enterance to the match.
