Preview:

The Saginaw Valley State University volleyball team travels to Marquette, Michigan for a match-up with the Northern Michigan Wildcats in the 2014 GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals.  The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm.  The Cardinals and Wildcats faced each other earlier this year in Marquette on November 1st with SVSU winning 3-2 in five sets.

Saginaw Valley enters the tournament as the #5 seed and carry an overall record of 16-10 into the match.  The Cardinals have been led by seniors Kelsey Ferla and Makenzie Frodle.  Ferla leads the team with 269 kills while Frodle has 239 kills hitting at a .337 clip.  

Northern Michigan is 14-13 overall and the #4 seed in the tournament.  The Wildcats have won four of their last five matches with the only loss coming to SVSU.  NMU is led by Lisa Studnicka who has 289 kills this season.  

The winner will advance to the GLIAC Tournament Semifinals and face either top-seeded Grand Valley State or Ohio Dominican on Saturday (11/15).  The game will be located at the highest remaining seed's campus.

Last season, SVSU lost to Grand Valley State 3-0 in the GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals.
