Senior Night
Attention volleyball fans, at this time we would like to celebrate the careers of six senior players who tonight are competing in their final home regular season match and have helped make the SVSU Volleyball program one of the top programs in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. These seniors have put together one of the best four-year periods of volleyball in SVSU history…
Our first senior is a Graphic Design major who prepped at Harbor Light Christian Academy. She has posted 19 kills and four blocks this season. She has recorded 51 kills and 16 blocks in 36 matches as a Cardinal. She is also a three-time recipient of the Cardinal Award. She is joined today by her parents Cliff and Janette Hass.

Our next senior is a Graphic Design major who prepped at Pennfield High School and played collegiately at both Grand Valley State and Grand Rapids Community College. Sara has played in 21 matches this season and recorded 33 kills, 82 digs and 10 service aces. Sara has tallied 63 kills, 167 digs and 32 in here SVSU career. She is joined by her parents Mike and Cheri Lowe.

Our next senior prepped at Owosso High School and spent two seasons playing for Northwood University. She will graduate in December with a degree in Business Management. This season she has recorded 170 kills and 55 blocks for the Cardinals. In her career at SVSU, she has recorded 304 kills and 146 blocks. She is joined by her parents Richard and Kathy Schroeder.

Our next senior is a Physical Education major who prepped at Lakeland High School. Laura leads the team in digs this season with 400 and has recorded 24 services aces. Laura is 3rd all-time at SVSU in digs with1,452 in 122 career matches. She is joined today by her parents Nancy Skvarce (Skuh-VARSE) and Dave Ward.

Our next senior is an Exercise Science major who prepped at Sinclair Secondary School. This season she has recorded 206 kills, 22 aces and 70 total blocks for the Cardinals. In her career, she has played in 113 matches and amassed 891 kills and 278 block-assists, good for third all-time at SVSU. She is joined by her parents David and Maxine Fitzgerald.
A middle hitter from Whitby, Ontario, Canada, #10 Katie Fitzgerald
Our final senior is a physical education major who prepped at Aurora Secondary School. She has recorded 328 kills this season along with 222 digs. She has played in 106 matches for the Cardinals in her career and is number three all-time in kills at Saginaw Valley with 1,222 and is a two-time All-GLIAC First Team selection. She is joined today by her parents Jerry Buxton and Cindy Bates.
