BAY CITY, Mich. - Katie Fitzgerald (Whitby, Ont. / Sinclair SS), a junior middle hitter on the SVSU volleyball team, has been selected as the GLIAC North Division "Player of the Week", it was announced by the conference office.
Fitzgerald had a big weekend to help the Cardinals earn a GLIAC-opening split against Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan. Fitzgerald hit .538 in the matches, posting 22 kills on 39 attacks while having only one error. She added nine blocks on the defensive end for the Cardinals. She currently ranks second in the GLIAC hitting percentage (.404).
