UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. -- The Saginaw Valley
State University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Michigan
Technological University in a Saturday Great Lakes Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference (GLIAC) match.
The Cardinals were led by senior Allison
Schlinkert (Marysville, Mich.) and sophomore Katie Fitzgerald
(Whitby, Ont./Sinclair SS), who both posted nine kills each. Senior
setter Kait
Harris (Essexville, Mich./Garber HS) recorded 33 assists in the
match. Sophomore libero Laura Ward (White
Lake, Mich./Lakeland HS) totaled 11 digs.
The loss puts the Cardinals’ record at 6-4 (1-1 GLIAC) while
the Huskies improve to 4-6 overall with a 2-0 record to begin
conference play. SVSU is back in action Tuesday (9/15) when it
travels to Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. for a 7:00 pm match-up with Lake
Superior State University.
