UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw
Valley State University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to
Hillsdale College Friday night (Oct. 9). The Cardinals dropped the
first set 26-24 before losing the next two by counts of 25-20 and
25-23, respectively.
SVSU was led by senior Kait Harris
(Essexville, Mich./Garber HS), who contributed 33 assists to the
Cardinal effort. Sophomore Annie Buxton
(Aurora, Ont./Aurora SS) posted 10 kills while senior Jaclyn Carnago
(St. Clair, Mich.) and sophomore Katie
Fitzgerald had seven each. Buxton and senior Allison
Schlinkert (Marysville, Mich.) each had 10 digs while Harris
had 11.
The loss puts Saginaw Valley’s record at 12-6 on the season
with a 7-3 record in the GLIAC while Hillsdale improves to 15-3
overall with a, 8-2 record in conference play. The Cardinals host
the University of Findlay Saturday, Oct. 10, at 2:00pm.
