Harris Named To The AVCA Division II Honorable Mention All-America Team

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Saginaw Valley State University senior volleyball player Kait Harris (Essexville, Mich./Garber HS) has been named to the 2009 AVCA Division II All-America Honorable Mention Team for her performance this fall.

Harris posted 1,146 assists in the 2009 campaign, which is the second-straight season she has amassed over 1,000 assists.  Kait tallied 3,056 assists in her career in a Cardinal uniform while adding 880 digs, 89 blocks, 85 aces, and 243 kills for a .272 career hitting percentage.  She appeared in 109 matches in her four year career.  Her 3,056 assists rank fourth all-time in school history while her .272 attack percentage currently ranks her fourth.

In Harris's final season, the SVSU volleyball team claimed a share of the program's first-ever GLIAC Championship while winning the GLIAC North Division outright with a 12-4 conference record.  Kait was also voted the 2009 GLIAC Volleyball "Player of the Year" by the league's head coaches while landing on the All-GLIAC First Team for the second-straight year.
