BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State
University volleyball team bounced back after a tough loss to Grand
Valley State last night to defeat GLIAC foe Ferris State today
(Nov. 1) in straight games, 27-25, 25-17 and 26-24.
Freshman middle hitter Annie Buxton (Aurora, Ont./Aurora SS) lead
the Cardinals on offense with 13 kills, while junior setter Kait
Harris (Essexville, Mich./Garber HS) contributed 35 assists, and
had 11 digs on defense. Senior defensive specialist Carmen Schacher
(Flint, Mich./Kearsley HS) lead all players with 19 digs, and
senior outside hitter Sarah Redoute (Clinton Township,
Mich./L’Anse HS) contributed 18 digs.
The win moves the Cardinals to 20-6 overall, and 10-5 in the GLIAC
while Ferris falls to 16-10 overall, and 8-6 in the GLIAC. SVSU
will return to action Nov. 7 when they face Lake Superior State in
the season finale.
