INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Saginaw Valley State
University volleyball team won their second game of the day at the
GLIAC/GLVC Challenge as the Cardinals defeated Southern Indiana in
straight games, 25-21, 25-20, 25-19 tonight (Oct. 17). Results
Freshman middle hitter Annie Buxton (Aurora, Ont./Aurora SS) led
the Cardinals offensively with 14 kills. After resting through game
1 earlier in the day, Cardinal Senior outside hitter Sarah Redoute
(Clinton Township, Mich./L’Anse Creuse HS)came out energized
and contributed 14 kills. Junior setter Kait Harris (Essexville,
Mich/Garber HS)dished out 38 assists.
Defensively for the Cardinals, senior Carmen Schacher (Flint,
Mich./Kearsley HS) got nine digs, while Harris and freshman Laura
Ward (White Lake, Mcih./Lakeland HS)contributed five each.
The Cardinals will be back in action at 1 p.m. tomorrow (Oct. 18)
when they face Northern Kentucky University.
