ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State
University volleyball team lost in the GLIAC Finals to Grand Valley
State today (Nov. 16) in four games, 25-20, 25-18, 15-25 and
25-14.
The Cardinals were outmatched by the No. 1 team in the conference
that managed to hold senior Sarah Redoute (Clinton Township, Mich.)
to just seven kills on the night. Redoute chipped in defensively
with 11 digs. As a team, SVSU could only produce 43 kills in the
four games.
Freshman middle hitter Annie Buxton (Aurora, Ont.) was able to get
13 kills against the Lakers, while junior outside hitter Jaclyn
Carnago (St. Clair, Mich.) managed to get 11 kills in the match.
Junior setter Kati Harris (Essexville, Mich.) produced 28 assists,
and 13 digs to lead the Cardinals with a double-double on the
night.
SVSU falls to 23-7 on the season, while Grand Valley improves to
29-3 overall.
