INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The SVSU volleyball team
got the GLIAC/GLVC Challenge off to a winning start as the
Cardinals put away Bellarmine University in straight games, 25-23,
25-22 and 25-18 in today’s (Oct. 17) opening match.
The Cardinals were led by middle-hitter Jaclyn Carnago (St. Clair,
Mich./St. Clair HS) who contributed 14 kills, followed by junior
Allison Schlinkert (Marysville, Mich./Marysville HS) who collected
12 kills. Junior setter Kait Harris (Essexville, Mich./Garber HS)
netted 36 assists.
On defense, the Cardinals were led by senior Carmen Schacher
(Flint, Mich./Kearsley HS) who had 11 digs, while senior Kelsey
Rabbish (Walled Lake, Mich./Central HS) got 10 digs.
The win boosts the Cardinals record to 16-4 overall. The Cardinals
will get back on the floor at 5:30 p.m. today when they will face
Southern Indiana.
