UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - Because of her
explosive offense, and strength on defense, Saginaw Valley State
University senior Sarah Redoute has been selected to the American
Volleyball Coaches Association honorable mention team today (Dec.
3).
She also is a part of the All-Midwest Region First Team and
Daktronics, Inc. All Midwest Region Second Team.
Redoute (Clinton Township, Mich. L’Anse HS) helped advance
the Cardinals to the NCAA Midwest Region Finals -- the first time
in the program’s history to advance that far in the post
season. She had 384 kills (a 3.17 per game average) to lead the
Cardinals, and was second on the team with 358 digs (a 2.96 per
game average). She also contributed 68.0 total blocks in the 2008
campaign.
This season, Redoute moved into first place in Saginaw Valley
State history with 1,281 career kills, eclipsing the previous
record of 1,240 set in the mid-1990s. She also is #1 in total
attacks with 3,942, besting the previous record by 908 attack
attempts. Redoute also is fifth in university history with 1,188
digs for her career.
