UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Saginaw Valley State University freshman Katie Fitzgerald (Whitby, Ont. /Sinclair SS) has been named GLIAC’s Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week for her dominant play on the court from Oct. 24-25.

Fitzgerald helped give the Cardinals an overall record of 19-5, and boosted their record to 9-4 in the GLIAC by leading SVSU on defense with 11 blocks, while she contributed 16 kills on offense for the weekend.

In the match against Michigan Tech. on Friday (Oct. 24), Fitzgerald had four block assists to lead the Cardinals, as well as six block assists and one block solo against Northern Michigan University on Saturday (Oct. 25).
