UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The crowds at
Saginaw Valley State University’s volleyball matches have
packed Cardinal Gym all year, but the weekend of Oct. 24-25, the
Cardinals are hoping for even better turn-outs as the team is
raising money to donate to breast cancer treatment research
organization Dig for the Cure.
Donations will be collected throughout the weekend, as the
Cardinals take on conference foes Michigan Tech. at 7 p.m. Friday
(Oct. 24) and Northern Michigan at 4 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 25). There
will be t-shirts for sale and breast cancer literature available at
each contest.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit Dig for the Cure. Dig
for the Cure was established in 1993 and has expanded to more than
200 programs in high schools and colleges across the country since
its inception, according to the organization’s Web site.
