UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The All-GLIAC honors
rolled into Cardinal Country for four SVSU volleyball players
tonight (Nov. 15).
Senior outside hitter Sarah Redoute (Clinton Township, Mich.), and
junior setter Kait Harris (Essexville, Mich.) were selected for
First Team in the conference for their contributions to the
smoldering Cardinal offense on the court this season.
Redoute has a team-leading 329 kills (3.13 kills per game average,
as well as contributing to the Cardinal defense by notching 313
digs, second only to senior defensive specialist Carmen Schacher
(Flint, Mich.). Harris has contributed 1,078 assists (10.07 assists
per game) in the Cardinals’ 29 matches this season. She also
has 216 digs.
Junior middle hitter Jaclyn Carnago (St. Clair, Mich.) was
selected to the Second Team All GLIAC for her 288 kills this season
with a .255 hitting percentage. She has also contributed 76 total
blocks this season.
Rounding out the All-GLIAC honors, Schacher was selected for
honorable mention as the key defensive player for the Cardinals.
Schacher has 441 digs on the season, good for a 4.08 dig per game
average in all 108 games she’s played.
All four Cardinal athletes have helped give SVSU a berth in to the
GLIAC Championship match Sunday (Nov. 16) against conference rival,
and No. 1 ranked Grand Valley State.
