Two Cardinal Tennis Players Awarded GLIAC Honors

GLIAC Two members of the Saginaw Valley State University tennis team earned Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) awards when they were presented on Friday afternoon at the league tennis tournament.

Sophomore Adriana Barrio Garcia De Leaniz led the way for the Cardinals by earning First-Team All-GLIAC honors at the awards presentation. Tara Erler earned All-GLIAC honorable mention to conclude the awards for SVSU.

Barrio Garcia De Leaniz was the Cardinals' number one singles player and was on the number one doubles pair. She finished year 4-8 in doubles and 5-8 in singles.

Erler finished the year 8-5 in singles and 5-8 in doubles for the season to earn her honorable mention distinction.

Saginaw Valley State qualified for the GLIAC Tennis Tournament and played its first-round matchup against Purdue Northwest after the awards ceremony.
