GLIAC Women's Tennis Tournament Central

MIDLAND -- Saginaw Valley State University will open play at the 2017 GLIAC Women's Tennis Tournament on Friday (Oct. 27) evening at the Greater Midland Tennis Center.

The Cardinals enter as the No. 4 overall seed and will face No. 5 Tiffin University at 6:45 p.m. in Midland. The No. 4 seed is the highest the Cards have been ranked entering the annual postseason tournament. The team's fourth-place league finish matches last year's finish, which was the best since a fourth-place showing in the standings in 2000. 

Saginaw Valley carries a 7-4 overall record and 7-3 GLIAC mark into play on Friday while the Tiffin is 7-4 overall and 6-4 in league play.  

SVSU defeated the Dragons earlier this season, claiming a 7-2 decision on Oct. 8 at the SVSU Tennis Complex.

NCAA Tournament Automatic Bid

The tournament champion will receive an automatic qualifying bid into the 2018 NCAA Women's Tennis Tournament.
