Strong, Argeros lead six Cardinals honored by the GLIAC

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team had six players earn Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors following the conclusion of the regular season. 

Senior Olivia Argeros was named the GLIAC Goalkeeper of the Year and First Team All-GLIAC. The Michigan State University transfer recorded a conference-high 11 shutouts, a new program record, and made 75 saves for the Cardinals. She has also logged every available minute in goal for SVSU this season.

Stephanie Strong was named GLIAC Freshman of the Year and earned First Team All-GLIAC honors. The native of Howell, Mich. scored 13 goals, a  new program record, and has played in every match this season, starting 18 of 19 games. Early in the season, Strong scored at least one goal in six straight games.

Reegan Kingpavong, Amy Babon, and Casey Rice all earned Second Team All-GLIAC honors. Babon appeared in all games this season for SVSU, tallying eight goals and five assists. Kingpavong also appeared in every match for the Cardinals and made 17 starts. The freshman scored five goals and also had five assists. Rice, a senior from Macomb, Mich. made 18 starts at the defender position this fall and was a part of a Cardinal defense that recorded 11 shutouts. 

Senior Zo Schultz earned Honorable Mention All-GLIAC for the Cardinals. The Rochester, Mich. native has started every game for the Cardinals at the defender position this season.
