SVSU holds off Purdue Northwest for 1-0 win

HAMMOND, Ind. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team went on the road and defeated Purdue Northwest University on Tuesday afternoon. The Cardinals picked up their tenth win of the season and moved to 10-2-2 overall and 7-2-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

SVSU scored their only goal in the 21st minute when Amy Babon found Reegan Kingpavong to make it 1-0. It was Kingpavong's fifth goal of the season and Babon picked up her third assist of the year. 

The Cardinals continued to put pressure on the Pride, outshooting them 24-3 but were unable to find the back of the net again. Olivia Argeros posted her ninth shutout of the season, making two saves in net for SVSU. 

The Cardinals will look to continue their winning streak, as they travel north for a noon matchup on Friday with Northern Michigan University.
