Shutout of No. 9 Bulldogs lifts Argeros to GLIAC POTW

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team earned a big draw on the road against No. 9 Ferris State University Sunday in Big Rapids, Mich.

The Cardinals held the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference power scoreless through 110 minutes. SVSU (6-1-2, 3-1-1 GLIAC) was led by the outstanding play of senior goalkeeper Olivia Argeros, who is the latest GLIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Argeros, from Oakland Township, Mich., made six saves for the Cardinals. She has not conceded a goal in her last three outings, making 22 saves over that span. Argeros has five shutouts in 2021, including four in league play. She has a save percentage of .864 and a 0.64 goals-against average.

The Cardinals welcome No. 1 Grand Valley State University for a matchup of top GLIAC programs at 1 pm Friday at Braddock Field.
