Cardinals top Rangers 2-0 on the road

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team defeated the University of Wisconsin-Parkside2-0  on the road Friday. With the win, SVSU's record moves to 6-1-1 overall and 3-1-0 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. 

The Cardinals scored both their goals in the first half. Amy Babon got the first goal of the game off of an assist by Solana Kelly in the 14th minute. The second goal was scored by Stephanie Strong in the 27th minute. It was Babon's fourth goal of the season and Strong's eighth. It was also marked the sixth straight game that Strong has found the back of the net for SVSU. 

The Cardinals outshot the Rangers 26-8. Olivia Argeros made six saves in net for SVSU and posted her fourth shutout of the season.

SVSU will be back in action against Purdue Northwest at 1 pm Sunday in Hammond, Ind.
