BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The 2021 spring season ended for the Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team with a loss to Ferris State University in the quarterfinals of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Tuesday in Big Rapids, Mich.
The No. 8 seed Cardinals held the No. 1 seed Bulldogs off the board in the first half as the game hit the break with a scoreless tie. Ferris State found three second-half goals to earn the 3-0 win to advance in the tournament.
The season ends for the Cardinals with a record of 2-7-0.
Gabrielle Teodorescu, Bri Rogers, and Pia Nagel each scored a goal for the Bulldogs, who outshot the Cardinals 34-5.
Alyssa Watts made 14 saves in her final game in net for SVSU. Amy Babon and Gabby Green each recorded two shots for the Cardinals.
