UNIVERSITY CENTER — Playing for the second straight weekend at home, the Lady Cardinal soccer team hosted Davenport University in a GLIAC tilt at SVSU's Braddock Field on Friday (Oct. 7) afternoon. After a scoreless first half, the Panthers snuck a second half goal nine minutes into the frame and held on for a 1-0 shutout victory over SVSU. 

The Cardinal defense was impressive, holding Davenport's offensive line to only two shots on goal. Saginaw Valley also out-shot the Panthers 16-7, posting eight shots on goal, but struggled to enter any into the net. Both teams had three corner kicks in the 90 minutes of play. 

Inside the Boxscore 
• Alexis Hilliard and Valentina Giambanco posted three shots and one on goal each. 
• Molly Vanderhoff and Sakura Bals both added two shots each. 
• Alyssa Watts made her first career start and had one save.
