BAY CITY, Mich. - A pair of Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer student-athletes earned GLIAC Player of the Week honors from the league. Senior forward Ashley Henderson was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week while fellow senior and defender Bria Spraggins earned Defensive Player of the Week plaudits.

Henderson scored six goals this past week, notching two-apiece in three victories over Indianapolis, Tiffin and Northwood. Henderson's final goal of the week moved her career total to 36, making her the all-time leader in goals scored in program history. She leads the league with seven goals in 2016 and has three of the team's five game-winning goals.

Spraggins led the Cardinal defense in going 3-0 with a trio of shutouts this past week. She was part of a defense that allowed just two shots on goal. SVSU has started the season 5-0, which is the first time in program history SV has rattled-off five straight victories to start.

The Lady Cardinals continue play on Friday, as they travel to Grand Valley State for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference matchup.
