BAY CITY - In the annual preseason Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Coaches' Poll, the Saginaw Valley State University women's soccer team has been picked to finish in seventh place for the upcoming 2016 campaign. Voting was conducted by all of the league's head coaches. 

The Cardinals were the recipients of 65 points to land in the no. 7 slot, just a single point behind Northern Michigan. Grand Valley State was chosen to win the league, garnering 11 first-place nods and 121 points. Ashland finished second, receiving the remaining first-place vote and 104 points. Ferris State (99), Ohio Dominican (90) and Michgan Tech (83) account for spots no. 3 through no. 5.
